Demands on eTutors

There are significant differences regarding the methodical structure possibilities of attendance lessons. A tele-communicative co-operation provides the team members with a variety of synchronous and asynchronous communication means, nevertheless these cannot reach the quality of face-to-face communication. One reason for this is that gesture, facial expression and intonation can be transferred only in a limited way which can lead to learning problems.

The development of learning material is often significantly more demanding as for attendance lessons.

This has a technological reason because e.g. the knowledge about the use of HTML editors and graphic programs as well as online and off-line publications have to be provided. In addition to this, learning material often supports the media-supported individual learning and by this more didactic-methodical functions than most learning material in attendance lessons.

New demands come up in the organisational sector. The technological infrastructure and the security of technological support is, e.g. of greater significance than in attendance lessons.
